A two-day training program titled “Resolution of Family Issues in the Light of Sharʻiah” for the general public was organized by Sharʻiah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad. The program was conducted both in person and online mode.
The objective of the program was to raise public awareness among general public about the Islamic perspective on family-related issues and to provide practical Sharʻiah-based guidance for resolving family disputes prevalent in society.
Renowned scholars and legal experts addressed the participants on various religious, legal, and social aspects. The attendees received comprehensive and evidence-based guidance on important topics such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, parentage, child custody, second marriage, khula, and waiting period ۔
The first day of the program commenced with a session on “Importance of the Family System and Contemporary Challenges,” in which Director General Sharʻiah Academy Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram and Dr. Shams-ul-Haq discussed the foundations of the Islamic family system, the need for its preservation, and the challenges it faces in modern times such as materialism, individualism, and social disintegration.
This was followed by an open discussion on “Modern Social Issues,” where participants were engaged in a dialogue on shifting social values, media influences on the family structure, and the mental and ethical challenges faced by the younger generation.
Later, Dr. Shams-ul-Haq spoke on “Cultural Practices and the Need for Reform.” He shed the light on un-Islamic customs such as dowry, extravagance, and ostentation, while emphasizing the importance of addressing them through Islamic jurisprudence.
Subsequently, Dr. Shehzad Iqbal Shami delivered a lecture on “Issues Related to Marriage and Divorce,” where he explained the Islamic rulings on marriage, the proper method of divorce. In the final session of the day, Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman discussed “The Characteristics of an Ideal Family in Islam,” and highlighted the moral and structural principles of a stable and prosperous family as outlined in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The second day began with a session, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram presented to topic “How to Make Our Homes a Model of Paradise,” in which he highlighted the Islamic principles for fostering love, peace, mutual respect, and cooperation within the household. The session was followed by Hafiz Ahmad Waqas, who addressed “Issues Related to Inheritance,” explaining the Shariah-based principles of inheritance distribution in light of Pakistani law and correcting common misconceptions, particularly concerning women’s inheritance rights.
The final scholarly session was conducted by Dr. Saqib Jawad, who spoke on “Child Custody and Their Rights,” offering insights into legal and Islamic perspectives on the care, education, visitation rights, and custody of children.
The program was attended by the general public, who appreciated this Sharʻiah-based initiative and termed it highly beneficial. The engaging discussions, questions, and interactive sessions added value to the program. The participants also expressed their desire for such training programs to be held regularly by Sharʻiah Academy.

شریعہ اکیڈمی میں ‘ خاندانی مسائل کا حل شریعت کی
روشنی میں ‘ کے موضوع پر دو روزہ تربیتی کورس کا انعقاد

شریعہ اکیڈمی، اسلام آباد کے زیر اہتمام 27-26 جولائی 2025 کو ‘خاندانی مسائل کا حل شریعت کی روشنی میں ‘کے عنوان سے ایک دو روزہ تربیتی کورس منعقد کیا گیا۔ اس پروگرام کا مقصد معاشرے میں بڑھتے ہوئے خاندانی مسائل کے شرعی حل سے عوام الناس کو آگاہ کرنا اور اسلامی عائلی قوانین سے متعلق شعور بیدار کرنا تھا۔
کورس کے دوران مختلف شرعی، قانونی اور سماجی پہلوؤں پر ماہر اساتذہ اور فاضل مقررین نے اظہارِ خیال کیا۔ شرکاء کو نکاح، طلاق، وراثت، ولدیت، حضانت، خلع اور عدت جیسے موضوعات پر جامع اور مدلل معلومات فراہم کی گئیں۔
پروگرام کے پہلے دن کی نشستوں کا آغاز “خاندانی نظام کی اہمیت اور معاصر چیلنجز” کے موضوع سے ہوا، جس میں ڈائریکٹر جنرل شریعہ اکیڈمی پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد اکرم نے خطاب کیا۔ انہوں نے اسلامی خاندانی نظام کی بنیاد، اس کے تحفظ کی ضرورت اور جدید دور کے چیلنجز جیسے مادہ پرستی، انفرادی سوچ اور خاندانی ڈھانچے میں بگاڑ پر سیر حاصل گفتگو کی۔ ان کے بعد منعقدہ سیشن “جدید سماجی مسائل: ایک کھلا مذاکرہ” کے عنوان پر سوال و جواب اور تبادلۂ خیال کی نششت رکھی گئی۔
بعد ازاں ڈاکٹر شمس الحق نے “معاشرتی رسوم و رواج اور ان کی اصلاح” کے عنوان سے گفتگو کی، جس میں انہوں نے اسلامی معاشرت میں رائج غیر شرعی رسوم، جیسے جہیز، فضول خرچی، اور نمود و نمائش کی مذمت کرتے ہوئے ان کی اصلاح کے فقہی پہلوؤں پر روشنی ڈالی۔ اسی دن ڈاکٹر شہزاد اقبال شامی نے “نکاح و طلاق سے متعلقہ مسائل” پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے نکاح کی شرعی حیثیت، طلاق کا درست طریقہ، خلع اور عدت جیسے اہم معاملات کو واضح انداز میں بیان کیا۔ دن کے اختتام پر ڈاکٹر حبیب الرحمن نے “اسلام میں مثالی خاندان کے خدوخال” کے موضوع پر روشنی ڈالتے ہوئے بتایا کہ قرآن و سنت کی روشنی میں ایک خوشحال، مستحکم اور بااخلاق خاندان کن اصولوں پر قائم ہوتا ہے۔
پروگرام کے دوسرے دن کا آغاز ڈائریکٹر جنرل شریعہ اکیڈمی پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد اکرم کی گفتگو سے ہوا، جنہوں نے “ہم اپنے گھروں کو جنت کا نمونہ کیسے بنائیں؟” کے موضوع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے گھریلو زندگی میں سکون، محبت، احترام، اور باہمی تعاون کے اسلامی اصولوں کو اجاگر کیا۔ اس کے بعد حافظ احمد وقاص نے “وراثت سے متعلقہ مسائل” پر تفصیل سے بات کی، جس میں انہوں نے اسلامی شریعت اور پاکستانی قانون کی روشنی میں وراثت کی تقسیم کے اصول، خواتین کے حقوق، اور عمومی غلط فہمیوں کا ازالہ کیا۔ آخری علمی نشست میں ڈاکٹر ثاقب جواد نے “بچوں کی حضانت اور ان کے حقوق (Custody)” پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے بچوں کی نگہداشت، تعلیم، ملاقات، اور قانونی حضانت کے شرعی و قانونی پہلو واضح کیے۔
پروگرام میں تقریبا تیس شرکا نے شرکت کی اور شرعی رہنمائی پر مبنی اس کاوش کو بے حد سراہا۔ شرکاء نے پروگرام کو مفید اور وقت کی اہم ضرورت قرار دیا اور اس کے مزید انعقاد کا مطالبہ بھی کیا۔ کورس کے اختتام پر شرکا میں شرکت کے سرٹیفیکٹ پیش کیے گئے۔
