Sharī‘ah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) successfully organized Islamic Law Orientation Courses for members of the legal fraternity in two major cities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir: Neelum and Muzaffarabad,

The course in Neelum was conducted in collaboration with the judiciary and the local District Bar Association. It was attended by judges, qazis, police officers, and lawyers. Some sessions were also attended by senior members of the district administration, including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police. The Director General, Sharī‘ah Academy, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram, expressed his deep appreciation to Qazi Abdul Sakoor, District Qazi Neelum, Mr. Abdul Wahid Mughal, District and Sessions Judge and Mr. Basharat Ahmad Mir, President, District Bar Neelum for their active cooperation and support.

In Muzaffarabad, the course was held in collaboration with the Central Bar and was attended by more than 60 lawyers. The concluding ceremony was graced by District and Sessions Judge Mr. Jahangir Jaral and District Qazi Mr. Mahfooz Sab. The Director General Sharī‘ah Academy thanked the President and Secretary General of the Central Bar and all participants for their enthusiastic engagement.

The courses featured lectures and interactive sessions conducted by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram (Director General, Shariah Academy), Dr. Asadullah (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Sharī‘ah and Law), Mr. Abdul Sakoor (District Qazi, Neelum) and Hafiz Ahmad Waqas (Lecturer, Sharī‘ah Academy).

Key topics covered during the courses included: Muslim Criminal Law, Family Law in Islam, Islamic Law of Inheritance, Islamic Procedural Law, Advocacy in Islam, and the Islamic Provisions of the Constitution of Pakistan.

These courses reflect Sharī‘ah Academy’s continued commitment to legal capacity-building and the promotion of Islamic legal understanding among Pakistan’s judicial and legal professionals.
