The Director General of the Punjab Judicial Academy, Lahore, Mr. Justice (R) Sardar Ahmad Naeem, paid a visit to the Shari‘ah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram, Director General of the Shari‘ah Academy, warmly welcomed the honorable guest to the Academy. 

In the meeting, which was joined by senior the faculty members and senior officials of the Shari‘ah Academy, both the DGs introduced their respective academies and expressed interest in furthering the existing cooperation between the two institutions, more precisely in the domains of faculty exchange, sharing the pool of resource persons, and reciprocal short-term hosting of the trainees of the two academies.

It was agreed that for a more structured institutional academic exchange and collaboration, a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two academies would be signed after necessary procedural formalities.

Mr. Justice (R) Sardar Ahmad Naeem expressed that he considers the Shari‘ah Academy his alma mater, as he had done the Regular Shari‘ah Course for Judges. He also extended a cordial invitation to the DG Shari‘ah Academy to visit the Punjab Judicial Academy, Lahore, soon to strengthen the institutional ties and discuss joint professional initiatives.

As part of the visit, Mr. Justice (R) Sardar Ahmad Naeem delivered an insightful lecture to the participants of the ongoing two-week-long Law Orientation Course for Muftīes and Madrasah graduates, in which more than 40 participants from across Pakistan are enrolled.  

In his lecture, Justice (R) Sardar Naeem provided a comprehensive overview of the judicial system of Pakistan, highlighting its structure, functions, and the role of various institutions in ensuring justice and the rule of law.  He also underscored the importance of ethical conduct, professional competence, and continuous learning for those entering the legal profession.

The lecture was followed by a lively question-and-answer session, during which the participants engaged in meaningful dialogue with the learned and experienced guest speaker, gaining valuable perspectives on the practical aspects of Pakistan’s judicial framework.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram thanked the honorable guest for sparing his precious time. He termed his visit a significant step towards fostering collaboration and enhancing both academies’ educational and professional development opportunities.
