



Sharī‘ah Academy has successfully conducted a four-day course on Ahkām-e-Sharī‘at and Professional Ethics for the university’s employees. More than 30 participants from different departments and sections of the university attended the course. The course was designed to strengthen the employees’ ethical and professional values in accordance with the principles of Sharī’ah.
Apart from the Fiqh al-‘Ibādāt, the course also focused on the Fiqh al-Ibādāt and covered various aspects of individual and professional lives, including professional etiquette, fair earning, self-accountability, conflict resolutions, and time management as taught by Islam.
In their extensive interactive sessions, the resource persons covered different topics that directly related to the daily lives of the participants and addressed their quarries regarding their official responsibilities in the offices.
They particularly highlighted that being Muslims, we need to realize the spiritual and moral import of ‘Ibādāt in Islam in such a way that these should have a significant impact on our social and professional conduct.
As the impact should be visible in the discharge of our official duties and responsibilities in the offices. The takeaway of the course was that honesty, fairness, impartiality, and justice are the core values that are interlinked with the ‘Ibādāt in Islam. The participants were also engaged in learning activities in which they actively took part. A workshop was held on conflict resolutions, which helped participants consider different conflict scenarios and their possible resolutions.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram, Director General of Sharī‘ah Academy, addressed the concluding session and said that such courses need to be designed as an integral part of the professional grooming of university employees in line with the principles of Sharī’ah. He vowed to make such courses for the university employees a recurring activity of the Sharī‘ah Academy. He also congratulated all the participants on the successful completion of the course. The course was coordinated by Dr Abdul Hameed (Lecturer) Shariah Academy.
